My Official First Nendoroid - Shiro [No Game No Life]

March 12, 2017

Odd title, I know. Reason being, technically Shiro is my 2nd Nendoroid. I actually have L from Death Note which I brought like yonks ago which when I moved out of home it went missing during the transition. It's such a pity, I really wished I still have it so that Shiro won't be so alone. I only just recently realised that it was a Nendoroid, so yeah I had it for years but never knew... doesn't matter we are moving forward and I hope to officially start on this Nendoroid journey!

I decided to document this Nendoroid journey to see how far I can go!   (๑→ܫ←)

Anyway let's start off with my very first Nendoroid (offically) #653 Shiro from No Game No Life. In case you do not know who she is, she is the 11 year old genius sister of Sora. One part of the the protagonist who gets transmitted to another world where life is pretty much a game. Unlike other stories, they have no desire to return to their own world but rather they aim to play the games in this world to collect all the chess pieces to challenge the God of this world called Tet. I'm not going to ramble on anymore with spoilers because it's definitely an anime that I urged you all to watch for yourself.

Originally, I was planning to wait till I go Japan in the next 2 weeks to buy a Nendoroid to document my trip, but alas there was this annoying tug that kept telling me to buy buy buy! So in the end I decided to buy one to start before the trip. Mind you it was a very, very hard decision to select the first Nendoroid to buy. I'm pretty sure I was there for a good solid 2 hours, if not more but I was really lucky because the guys working there were so helpful and didn't mind teaching me a few tips and tricks on making sure I'm not buying a fake. In the end, among the walls of Nendoroids, I decided to get Shiro, a few reasons:

  1. I watched No Game No Life and LOVED it! Especially since I'm a gamer myself.
  2. Shiro means white in Japanese and I have a thing for the tone white.
  3. Her accessories are; a phone, console and a card from a deck.
  4. Her rainbow hair! Hello! I don't have to worry about what kind of setting I am in where she might disappear, at least not with that hair!
I'm sure I can go on some more. It was not an easy decision to be honest. I was thinking of getting one that was closer in appearance to myself at first but then... it was like nah this works good!

I also bought a Nendororid More: Face Parts Case to store her part to take with me on the trip, as well as served as another figure option. I was going to buy the bunny but I adore the fox deity from Japanese folklore so I went with Konnosuke. More posts of Konnosuke soon.

I just had to take a shot of Shiro with Nox! Isn't he just HOT!!! (ノ∀`♥) Really wished he existed in real life... actually no! I'm already turning fangirl for him, if he was real I might turn stalkerish...
